I am sharing this page with you to honour the memory of Angus Bownes by supporting the work of Lifeline Australia.
Angus Bownes was a brave and charismatic man who was a pillar to his community and touched the lives of everyone he knew. Angus was always open about his struggles with mental health. Tragically he suicided at the age of 29 years old in May 2024. For anyone so inclined, his family would profoundly appreciate any donations to Lifeline, a charity which does crucial work in suicide prevention.
By celebrating Angus' life with a gift to Lifeline, you will help provide support to people across Australia who are feeling overwhelmed, lonely, or facing a personal crisis. Your gift will support a range of services and our network of skilled Crisis Supporters, all dedicated to providing connection and empathy whenever someone asks for help.

I knew Angus throughout high school and in those few years afterwards when we were all becoming new adults. He was an amazing example of that old truism - ‘You don’t remember what people say, only how they made you feel.’ At an age, where it’s easy to run cold, to be cool and detached and dismissive, Angus ran warm. He made people feel good. He made them feel welcomed and valuable - that’s no small feat.
